We study ecological and evolutionary processes across biological scales, from cellular metabolism to microbial communities, using cutting-edge experiments and mathematical modelling. Experiments help constrain models and model predictions drive new experiments. Using mathematical models, we also explore scenarios outside of experimental observations to discover general principles in biology.
