Roman Zapien-Campos
April 2023 - present: postdoctoral researcher
Roman specialises in stochastic processes and wants to be trained as an experimentalist as well.
Roman did his PhD at Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Biology in Germany.
He enjoys doing sports like football and running, watching movies, building electronics, and cooking.

Sonal
November 2019 - present: postdoctoral scholar
October 2021 - September 2023: Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship
Sonal is interested in understanding how metabolic interactions within microbial communities get shaped by nutrient stresses. Currently, she (willingly) studies budding yeast populations which interact via stinky gases.
In her free time, Sonal enjoys social dancing and hiking.

Jamila Rowland-Chandler
June 2023 - present: Royal Society Wolfson Foundation PhD student
Jamila is interested in the quantitative side of evolutionary biology.
In her free time, she juggles chainsaws and sings operas. She loves hugging plants and eating at restaurants.

Alex Yuan
June 2018 - March 2023: PhD student
March 2023 - present: consultant
Alex is currently developing statistical techniques to infer relationships between ecosystem players based on purely observational time series.
Favorite terrible science joke: What is a pirate's favorite molecular biology tool? "P-C-Arrrghh!"
